Concept Construction SW is a family-run groundworks contractor serving Cornwall, Devon, and Somerset. We undertake residential and commercial projects of all sizes, supported by a directly employed team and a wider network of experienced, qualified operatives. Our clients include developers, contractors, and homeowners across the region, and each project is managed with the same level of care, regardless of scale, from a single domestic driveway to a larger commercial development.
Our Story
Concept Construction SW was established in February 2024 by brothers Connor and Thomas Langan. What began as a labour supply business has gradually grown into a comprehensive groundworks contractor, driven by repeat business and recommendations from clients across the region. This growth has been guided by the same core values the business was founded on: reliability, communication, and a genuine dedication to quality work. Long-standing partnerships with contractors like Steve Hoskin Construction, MJL Groundworks, and K&J Hodge Contractors demonstrate the trust we have built through consistent and reliable delivery. Much of our work continues to come through recommendations and repeat business with these partners. As the company has expanded, so too has our range of services, all while maintaining the same hands-on, family-run ethos that the business was built upon.
What We Do
Our work covers the entire range of groundworks activities, from preparing and shaping sites for commercial developments to smaller domestic projects like driveways, patios, and drainage. In addition to our own projects, we provide skilled labour sourced from our team and a trusted network of over 70 self-employed operatives to other contractors who need extra capacity or specific machinery for a particular job. Many clients utilise more than one of these services on the same project, and we can organise the work in a way that best suits you.

Groundworkers, 360 excavator operators, supervisors, and foremen are available individually or as complete crews, sourced from our directly employed team and trusted network of experienced operatives, ready to support projects of all sizes.

Our senior team has over 20 years of experience working with leading groundworks contractors, shaping how each task is planned and managed, from the initial site visit to completion. About 95 percent of our current work supports residential developments and house building, while our management structure and workforce also enable us to take on larger commercial projects without sacrificing the personal, family-run service that clients depend on.

Concept Construction SW is SMAS and CHAS accredited. Our team holds CSCS, CPCS, NPORS, SMSTS, and SSSTS qualifications, and every project is supported by detailed RAMS, risk assessments, method statements, and £10 million Public Liability Insurance. This ensures clients can trust that work is completed safely and to the correct standard, regardless of the project size.
